Placement of Mile Markers Marks Countdown to TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race
Road race set for Saturday, Aug. 4, in coastal Cape Elizabeth, Maine
The traditional countdown to the TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race began Thursday (July 5) with the placement of Mile Markers along the coastal course in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Cape Elizabeth Public Works employees Jason Emery (silver-framed sunglasses) and Darren Brown installed the markers along the route for the popular 15-year-old race, set for Saturday, August 4. The Mile Markers are new this year, featuring the new race name and logo. The TD Beach to Beacon 10K, which will include some of the world’s top road racers as well as recreational runners from throughout the region, begins near Crescent Beach and ends at the historic Portland Head light at Fort Williams Park. The event’s lead sponsor is TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank, one of the 10 largest banks in the U.S. with nearly 8 million customers at more than 1,280 convenient locations from Maine to Florida. The 2012 race beneficiary is Center for Grieving Children.
